The D5463 constant current regulator uses primary thyristor control, filter reactors and an air cooled step up isolation transformer to provide a highly stabilised ac current adjustable over a wide range. The regulators are intended for use with series isolation transformers and incandescent runway lamps. The regulators are used to select day (bright) and night (dim) intensities by remote control. True rms detection circuits monitor the output current and hold it constant even as the load varies due to lamps going open circuit.
